We multiply the billed hours (your hours or the minimum, whichever is higher) by the low and high hourly rate, for as many vehicles as your group needs, then add the driver tip. Fuel surcharges, tolls, parking and overnight driver lodging are not included — ask each company for an all-in written quote.

Most companies charge by the hour with a minimum (often 4–5 hours) for local trips, and by the day or by the mile for long trips. On top come driver gratuity, fuel surcharge, tolls, parking and, for overnight trips, the driver’s hotel room.
Rates change with the date, city, bus age, demand and how far the bus must travel to reach you (deadhead). Spring weekends and graduation season cost the most. Use this tool to budget, then get written quotes from at least three companies.
For groups of 20 or more, a bus is often cheaper per person than several rented vans once you count fuel, parking and drivers — and nobody in your group has to drive.
