How we size your group

We add your spare-seat buffer, then fill motorcoaches (56 seats) first and cover the rest with the smallest vehicle that fits: a minibus (about 30 seats) or a passenger van (15). With heavy luggage we only use motorcoaches, because smaller vehicles have little storage. Capacities vary by company — confirm the exact seat count when you book.

Frequently asked questions

How many people fit on a charter bus?

A full-size motorcoach seats 50–56 passengers, a minibus 20–35, and a passenger van 12–15. Always ask for the seated capacity of the exact vehicle — luggage and wheelchair spaces can reduce it.

Should I book one bigger bus or two smaller ones?

One large bus is usually cheaper than two smaller ones. Two buses make sense if your group splits up, needs to leave at different times, or the venue can’t fit a 45-foot coach.

How much luggage fits on a bus?

A motorcoach has under-floor bays for roughly one large suitcase per passenger. Minibuses and vans have far less space — for airport or multi-day trips, size up or add a luggage trailer.
